Liora Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [TODO — legal entity name] ("Liora," "we," "us") governing your use of the Liora iOS app and the liora.openzentra.com website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. What Liora is — and what it is not

Liora is a personal pattern companion for the menopause transition. It lets you log symptoms, optionally connects (read-only) to your Apple Health data, and produces plain-language summaries of patterns in your own data, including a weekly insight and an exportable Doctor Report PDF.

Liora is not a healthcare provider, is not medical advice, and is not a medical device.

  • The Service does not diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or condition, and nothing in the Service should be read as doing so.
  • Insights are descriptions of statistical patterns in your logged data, phrased in plain language. They are not clinical conclusions, causal claims, or recommendations to start, stop, or change any treatment, medication, or supplement.
  • The Service is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified health provider with any questions about a medical condition, and never disregard or delay professional advice because of something you read in Liora.
  • If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your doctor or emergency services immediately.
  • The Doctor Report is a convenience summary of your own logged data for discussion with your clinician; it is not a medical record, lab result, or clinical document.
  • Liora has not been evaluated or cleared by the FDA and is intended for general wellness and informational purposes only.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old. You sign in with your email and password (or Sign in with Apple); you are responsible for keeping those credentials secure and for activity on your account. One account per person; you may not share, sell, or transfer an account. Provide accurate account information (your self-described menopause stage, however, is yours to describe however feels right — "unsure" is a fully supported answer).

3. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

Liora is a paid membership with a hard paywall: beyond onboarding (including your Baseline Reflection), the Service requires an active trial or subscription.

  • Prices: $8.99/month or $59.99/year, each with a 7-day free trial. Prices are in USD; equivalent local pricing is set by Apple where applicable.
  • How billing works: payment is charged to your Apple ID by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlement status. We never see your payment card details.
  • Trial → paid conversion: when the 7-day trial ends, your subscription begins automatically at the exact price shown to you before you started the trial, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. We show the price and the renewal date before you start the trial and remind you again 24 hours before the first charge.
  • Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically each period at the then-current price until cancelled. If prices ever change for existing subscribers, Apple requires — and we will honor — advance notice and, where applicable, your consent.
  • Cancelling: cancel anytime in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
  • Refunds: purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its terms (reportaproblem.apple.com). We can't issue App Store refunds directly.
  • Lapsed memberships: if your subscription ends, your data is preserved and you can export or delete it at any time; full app access resumes if you resubscribe.

4. Your data and your content

  • It's yours. You own your Symptom Logs, notes, and exported files. You grant us a limited, revocable license to host and process this content solely to operate the Service for you (computing your insights, generating your Doctor Report, syncing your devices) — and for nothing else. We do not sell your data or use it to train AI models.
  • Export and deletion are self-service in Settings, per our Privacy Policy and Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v).
  • Apple Health: you control HealthKit permissions in iOS. Liora reads only what you permit and never writes to Apple Health.
  • AI-generated text: insight narration is produced with an AI language model, constrained by our server-side compliance filtering. It can still be imperfect or generic. It is informational only (see Section 1).

5. Acceptable use

Don't: use the Service for anyone under 18; reverse-engineer, scrape, or probe the Service; attempt to access another Member's data; use the Service to provide medical services to others; resell or redistribute the Service; upload unlawful content in free-text notes; or interfere with the Service's operation. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, brand, and content other than your data — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation.

7. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties (Apple, Supabase, Anthropic, RevenueCat, Expo). We're not responsible for their outages, and your use of Apple services is governed by Apple's terms. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with respect to the iOS app and may enforce them; Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support or handle any claims regarding the app — that's on us.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE OR ITS INSIGHTS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, OR UNINTERRUPTED. PATTERN INSIGHTS ARE STATISTICAL OBSERVATIONS OVER SELF-REPORTED AND DEVICE-REPORTED DATA AND MAY BE WRONG, INCOMPLETE, OR NOT MEANINGFUL FOR YOU.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR GOODWILL; AND (B) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $50 OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

10. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service, to the extent permitted by law.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature should survive (1, 4, 6, 8–10, 12–13) survive termination.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [TODO — state, e.g., Delaware or founder's state of residence], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
